For the fourth consecutive year, the team of The Regional History Museum – Sofia organized the program “Young researchers in the museum” with students from The National School for Ancient Languages and Cultures “St. Constantin – Kiril Philosopher”. The initiative was held between 24th and the 30th of June and was organized within the activities of the K-TRIO project („Researchers in the Knowledge Triangle“, funded by HORIZON-MSCA-2025-CITIZENS-01-01 - European Researchers' Night and Researchers at Schools 2026-2027).

The program was held within different branches of The Regional history museum – Sofia. Educational and creative initiatives were prepared to familiarize the participants with historical preservation, cultural heritage and the museum environment. Some of the accents in the program were visits in the museum collection storage vaults, The Late Antiquity Mausoleum in Lozenets, the permanent exhibition space of The Regional History Museum – Sofia and the Archeological exhibition “Ancient Serdica”. In the frames of the course the teams were presented with different aspects of the museum work and the preservation of the cultural heritage in Bulgaria from the end of the 19th century up to the present days – archeological and historical researches, museology as a science, organization of the museum collections and restauration workshops.

The team of The Regional history – Sofia applied a specific and interactive pedological approach, developed especially for the course. The students were divided into teams – “Archeologist”, “Historians”, "Collection managers and Restorers" and “Curators”. They were tasked with different assignments to prepare a specialized museum exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the pioneer Bulgarian archeologist, numismatist and epigraphist, of Czech descent, Václav Dobruský. Each of the teams took on a specific role and all of them worked together to produce the museum documentation, research, texts and design, necessary for the creation of their own, original exhibition. The result of their efforts was presented officially in front of their teachers from The National School for Ancient Languages and Cultures, the employees of the museum, the parents of the participants and other guests.
